With the addition of iPads into our classroom, we will be one of the only classrooms in the school that has access to such technology. My students will be able to access apps that reinforce skills and enable higher level learning. iPads will not only become a tool that will help create more authentic learning experiences in the classroom, but also build twenty first century skills that our children need in order to be successful in a quickly evolving technical world. My students will be able to work in centers with the iPads, writing, reading, learning phonemic awareness skills, working with math manipulatives and more. They will be able to create both independent and collaborative projects in order to show a true understanding of concepts.
Our classrooms are not yet at the level of technology to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more. iPads are integral and the amazing tools that should be present in every classroom. Without consistent access to technology, my students are not able to access 21st century skills. I believe that they should not be held back because of lack of funds, but deserve to explore and learn at the same level as students who have this access. Our classroom will be forever changed by the addition of iPads.
