As a new physical education teacher, I was excited to inventory our equipment closet and begin planning my units of study for the semester.
Unfortunately, in its current state, much of my equipment is not easily accessible due to disorganization and disfunction.
It is my vision to organize the closet so that all equipment is accessible to me, students who check out items for recess, and coaches of our after-school sports.
In order to organize the closet sufficiently, I must first pull everything out of the closet and lay it out on the floor of the gym. Much of the equipment needs cleaning. Some of the items in the closet need repair and a few may need to be thrown out. Then, I would like to systematically organize the usable equipment into clear bins which I can label. Throughout this process, I will count and inventory all equipment so that I know what we have.
This process will help make the equipment closet accessible to all members of our school community!
