It seems like only yesterday we started...introducing my students to "A Different World" and then right before my eyes they transformed into "Freedom Writers". Facing an unjust world, my students find comfort and support knowing they can "Lean on Me" as they "Stand and Deliver" to a world that tells them they have "Dangerous Minds". Despite the obstacles we are relentless in our "Pursuit of Happyness". And even though it isn't blue skies like we live in the 90210, we have great times. They understand that, "if they wanna be somebody, if they wanna go somewhere, they better wake up and pay attention."
I'm a 4th year Special Education Teacher on the South-side of Chicago. My main goal is to love on my scholars while I expose them to the opportunities given through Math, Science, ELA, and S.S.-while throwing in some 80s/90's greatness (as you can see by all the show and movie references).
