The school that I will be teaching in is amazing because of the sheer volume of experiences available to students. They can explore the natural world in science lab and by simply walking out the door and visiting the gardens on campus. I have not met the students who will be in my very first class, but I have spent the summer wondering about the little people who I know will steal my heart over the next year. Will they be interested in reading or history? Will they get my jokes? Will they be willing to go out on a limb and be silly once in a while to shake things up? Will I be able to reach them the way I've dreamed about for the past for years as I attended lectures on best teaching practices and studied for exams? I don't know my students yet, but I do know that each one will be unique, many of them will be a challenge, and I will love them all.
