My tenth graders average a fourth grade reading level whenever tested. That is FIVE grade levels below what they need to be at and each day that deficit grows!
Giving my students books that are relevant to their lives and interesting will encourage them to keep reading and improve their skills! A classroom library that ranges in genres will allow my students to pick books that capture their attention, push their reading skills, and see them develop a love for reading that will help improve their abilities! It will allow students to grab a book and read whenever they want!
