LEGO learning tools are a fantastic way to inspire middle school students by combining building elements and coding language to engage students to think critically and solve complex problems, regardless of their learning level. This project will be an in-school, learning activity that is designed to help my diverse group of students learn the essential STEM and 21st century skills necessary to become the innovative minds of tomorrow. Students will use the engineering design cycle to 鈥淎sk鈥 what is the problem they are trying to solve and the limitations they may face. Next, students will brainstorm and research LEGO design solutions in the 鈥淚magine鈥 step. Students will then generate a 鈥淧lan鈥 to design, code, and engineer their project. Students next 鈥淐reate鈥漷heir building project and 鈥淚mprove鈥 the prototype and debug the coding before arriving at their final project creation.
