I am a first grade teacher in my ninth year of teaching. This is my first year at FS Edmonds and I can't wait to see what the year brings for me and my little learners. There are 27 inquisitive minds in my class this year and it is a constant challenge to meet all of their needs. For many of my students, school is a safe haven; a refuge from the chaotic world they live in. In an environment that is not always conducive to learning, my students find refuge in books. They read independently for over an hour each day, often asking if they can read "for just a little bit longer!" These fun and hungry for knowledge students are in desperate need for new material to keep them engaged.
