My band members are hard working, young adults. Many of them take advanced courses and participate in sports or other clubs in addition to the music program. The majority of students in my school lack school spirit, but my students more than make up for it. They are proud of everything they do and are determined to make a difference.
Their excitement for the upcoming school year and marching band season is infectious! They are full of ideas of how to make our band even better, and I want to do everything I can to make those ideas happen. Unfortunately, my program does not receive much funding, so it is often difficult to purchase the materials they need to help make these improvements.
Our drumline is most in need of help. The sticks my students are currently using are very old, and my members can't always afford to buy new ones. Replacing and providing these items would be a nice surprise for them!
