As we prepare for back to school, Covid numbers continue to spike in South Carolina. In an effort to provide safe learning options for students, our district will be offering virtual instruction for the 20-21 school year.
I believe that virtual students should be afforded all of the same opportunities as students who will engage in face to face learning this year. With this project, virtual students will receive their own personal copy of the novel for reading and the completion of rich, complex literacy activities. While reading digitally is a wonderful option, most young readers both prefer and perform better with the actual book in their hands.
