My students often work in small groups that are teacher led or peer led. I have a small breakout room that is in desperate need of lounge seating. I encourage my students to get comfortable while working and feel at home. 80% of class work is done on a laptop and middle school students love laying on the floor and working. These chairs would encourage them to sit up and collaborate with each other in small groups.
Mathematics is a standardized tested area. Success in this content area is crucial to the academic lives of my students. I would love to see my students build relationships centered around academics. I know these chairs are one small step in fostering that development within my students.
