Some of these materials will be used to create a classroom 'Camp.' Students will come in the classroom with multiple jobs related to camping, and will get 'paid' for doing those jobs correctly. In this camping themed classroom, students will be encouraged to use a variety of manipulates to demonstrate complete understanding of topics. Math facts will be hit hard, and many games and materials will be utilized to make that possible. Items such as Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Cards will be used to purchase curriculum for subjects such as Science and Social studies, which the school does not currently provide. Organizational items are also needed to have a calm, focused classroom. These items will be used to help store school supplies, completed assignments, sensory bins, and STEM bins. Alternative seating will also be used in this classroom to provide students the opportunity to work comfortably in a way that is still productive. Students will get the option of where they sit and work in the classroom, so long as the students are being productive. This will keep students from getting bored in the classroom, along with getting rid of the monotonous routine of going to school, sitting at a desk all day, and feeling frustrated with the lack of movement and freedom allowed in the classroom. My overall goal is to create an environment that is positive, relaxing, but also engaging and conducive to learning. Any help and support will be extremely appreciated!
