I will be teaching New Media Arts Classes to a variety of students of varying ability levels. Technology is a primary component to the genre, which creates art using new media technologies, including digital art, computer graphics, computer animation, virtual art, internet art, interactive art, video games, computer robotics, 3D printing, cyborg art, and biotechnology. Therefore, having access to technology is vital and necessary to demonstrate these techniques.
Because our students have varying ability levels, the more technology that is available to them, the better. I-pads are ideal because they are portable, durable, and appropriate for learners of all ages and ability levels, allowing all students to access the same concepts. There are a wide range of photo editing, drawing, and video editing apps available which all students can benefit from. Students will be tasked with achieving the New York State Anchor Standards for the Arts, including Creating, Performing/Presenting/Producing, Responding, and Connecting.
