Some of my students have physical disabilities which make it challenging for them to access the classroom and activities within the classroom. They want so much to be independent, but a lack of accessible furniture and supplies currently prevents them from being so.
The ALVIN Reflex Table (a student desk for students in wheelchairs) and an accessible scissor kit would allow them to more fully participate in their environment. They would no longer need a desk that makes them stick out in class, nor would they need someone else to do their work and cutting for them. They would allow the students to feel empowered and more a part of their classes, just like their peers.
