My students are 5th graders attending a Title I school in East Los Angeles who are hard working and full of potential. They are multi-talented and have interests that range from singing, cello, clarinet, American Sign Language, baking, drawing, football, cheerleading, gymnastics, and more. Their energy and love of learning is clear in the way they dive into various projects involving Native Americans, Early European Explorers, and American Colonists.
Their passion from learning about the world is seen when we discuss issues happening around the world after watching CNN Student News every morning during breakfast time. They are full of spirit and thoughtfulness toward one another as they tackle difficult math concepts and encourage each other to grow in their reading levels and homework completion.
