The Growth Mindset and a Literary Community is at the heart of everything we do in Ms. Chole's class.
We spend time getting to know one another through activities such as Community Circles and Book Clubs to create a safe, collaborative, and challenging environment.
Consequently, the community and growth mindset that is built in our classroom fosters continued growth and meaningful feedback through self-reflection, peer sharing, and conferencing with Ms. Chole.
Harnessing the strength of the writing process and utilizing mentor texts, students continue to engage with, discuss, analyze, and evaluate literature while using it as a model for their own writing.
Students feel safe sharing their writing with their peers or with Ms. Chole to demystify the writing process and to challenge the limits of their capabilities.
Even students who enter with self-doubt, create work that they are proud of.
