My school is located in a economically disadvantaged area in Tennessee. The students aren't exposed to music other than Rap, R&B, or Gospel. My students are hungry for different musical experiences. They always ask, "Can we perform this for the school?" "Are we going to have a program?" Parental involvement in my area is very slim but parents tend to come watch programs where their students are involved. I know my students crave this attention and love learning and watching themselves and other classes perform.
