I want my students to enjoy reading and learning. This means putting books in the library that appeal to their interests. They spend a lot of time at the shelves searching for something they want to read. Our school set a goal to encourage every child to read for at least twenty minutes each day. A better selection will excite the children about reading new books. Then, they can accomplish the school goal and achieve their personal goals of becoming a better reader.
With help from this project, I will provide comfortable cushions, leaning wedges, and new and exciting books to encourage my students not only to read, but to ENJOY reading! The students can lay in the reading corner on a wedge or bean bag, read their new book, and create a habit of enjoying reading that will hopefully continue as they grow.
