In our combined US History - Engineering - Chemistry - English III blended learning STEM-based Cohort, our Title-One students are tackling real-world problems in a Project Based Learning Model. Our school follows a "one room schoolhouse" model, with AP, prep, and ESL students all sharing the same classroom. Rigorous reading is a key component to getting our inner-city students to close academic gaps. Reading authentic, real-world scientific case studies will push them to see the connections between our four courses. Using a book that has authentic connections to their own community, state, and region will make our learning timely, personalized, and important.
