The past school year has been rough on my classroom library. When we ended school due to the pandemic, I let my students pick 4 books from my classroom library that they wanted to take home to enjoy. Sort of a gift from me. When we started in person this year, we started with restrictions. So my classroom library was off limits. To make it work I let the students pick books to enjoy and keep at their seats. This began to wear and tear some of my most favorite classroom books. Needless to say, there ending up being too many in the “book hospital” and most were beyond repair.
