My students love to read and have lively engaging discussions. What is most engaging to them are things that happen in their lives and things they have experienced. I want students to know that what they learn and experience in the classroom can be applied to their own lives and circumstances.

Our school is a Title 1 school serving a high needs population in East Oakland. The school mantra echoes the hope I have for my students: "College is for Certain."
