My students are eager learners who are learning English as their second and for some third language. While some of them are older in age, they still require the foundation of beginning phonemic awareness skills.
My students enjoy playing games and learning through games.
I am requesting Phonics Magnetic Word Building Boards to help get them excited to learn long and short vowel sounds as well as blends and digraphs.
I am also requesting dry erase pocket folders so that we can help save the environment and reduce the amount of paper we use. My students will be able to complete a lesson and feel success even if they make a mistake. They will simply erase it and correct it.
We love to have ownership of our work and remembering sight words is very important as we know some words do not follow special rules. My students will love to use the dot markers in their own journals to increase their sight word recognition.
We are also focusing on pace and time and having. classroom timer will be very helpful in helping to recognize the time we take to do an activity.
