Most of my students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school is Title I, and most of my kids are Limited English Proficient. Many of the students in my class also have limited to no exposure to technology at home and many of their questions go unanswered. I have a bright, inquisitive, high-energy group who want to know more about the world around them.
Our school has a positive-based discipline system where we focus on the good, and try to get students to reflect on how their actions affect others. While we have great support from our administration and some wonderful after-school programs, our parents cannot donate financially as much as I know they would like.
