I’m Ms. Geena, the library technician for Bushnell Way & San Pascual STEAM elementaries. While I’m new to this area, I’ve been with LAUSD since 2020 and am happy to serve our students. Despite budget cuts affecting libraries, I’m inspired to show why reading is more important than ever. Growing up, I struggled to find time for books, but when my librarian encouraged me to read, I fell in love. With practice, I was reading at a college level by third grade. Now, I’m passionate about sharing that joy with my students through interactive stories, hands-on projects, and lessons on SEL, diversity, and historical figures. Think of me as the Ms.Frizzle of Libraries! Your support helps keep our libraries thriving and empowers students to become lifelong learners.
