My students need basic cleaning supplies & healthy snacks in order to reach their full potential as learners and alleviate the feeling of social anxiety over being in a clean environment and stressed over hunger that many of them experience daily. In the high-poverty urban area where my students live, many of them experience unstable family finances and resources at home run out. Often student's attendance and behaviors suffer at the end of the month due to concerns over what will be left upon arriving home.
It is extremely difficult to concentrate, learn, and retain what is being taught when your belly is empty - your last meal eaten at school the day before. Thank you for helping me to provide basic cleaning supplies and healthy snacks! Thank you for supporting the success of all learners.
