My students are energetic, bright, and absolutely love to learn. Our school is located in a low-income neighborhood in New York City, and all of our kids receive free lunch. Many come from difficult home lives, yet still show up to school every day with a huge desire to learn. Our school is the hub of the community. It is a small school, where parents, teachers, and administrators all know each other well. Teachers reach out and help students, even if they have never taught them. The students at my school strive to become better every day, no matter what obstacles stand in their way.
