Students will spend the day at a local ski resort where they will get a skiing or snowboarding lesson from a certified instructor. They will also get to practice on the mountain with experienced, caring adults (teachers and chaperones) supervising them. A common phrase at my school is, "There's nothing to do here in the winter!" Well, with my field trip, students get a glimpse of what they can do! Our school provides a free bus every weekend, so once they learn to ski or snowboard, then they may use the bus every weekend to enjoy a new, healthy hobby.
