These library items will help to complete our updated library space to benefit all students within our building making an age appropriate and accessible library! The school has graciously painted the space and provided some additional furniture. It is looking like a great space! We hope to have the new space ready to unveil on February 1st. Bulletin boards are decorated and the space is quickly filling up with books that are now part of our digital checkout system. The students are really enjoying helping with the inventory. A new computer will also be arriving next week for the space.
How can you help our library? We need chairs; the chairs will provide additional adult seating that are lightweight to move out of the way when more space for wheelchairs are needed. The stand will enable our students with limited physical ability to easily scan their own books without requiring the use of two hands. Hooks, tablet stand and headphone adapter will allow our iPads to act as a listening center for up to six students while keeping cords organized and helping students to increase their independence with putting headphones away. Vinyl will be used to label the existing library carts to assist students with finding their preferred reading material and help our adult students with reshelving.
