Building a strong, caring and loving community is always my first priority in my classroom. To do this I teach cooperation, collaboration and sharing of ideas. This allows me to reach and teach each child in a way that best suits them.
Being a SPED inclusion classroom I am always in need of alternative seating. One way I am able to do this, is having areas of flexible seating for them to cozy up and read and write. Sit down on the ground or on cushions and focus on their work or on the teacher.
Classroom decor is also important. It creates a welcoming, exciting and fun learning environment for younger students. Most of my decorations are old and I want this next group to be excited about the theme in the classroom and feel like they are worth having new things hanging and on the walls for them.
The caddies will help my students store and organize their supplies. The handles will make for easy access and movement for them to be able to freely move about the classroom. The pouches will hold their leveled readers and keep them organized and in one place. These pouches will also be easily movable and easy to access.
These items will help strengthen and build a strong foundation and environment for learning, while building on early developmental and character education.
