My school is a title I school that serves students that come from low-income families and the majority qualify for free and reduced lunch program. My special education program is dedicated to students with moderate/severe intellectual disabilities on the alternative curriculum. My students are eager learners that are in need of accessing contents in a variety of approaches and tools. My students are extremely active and their attention is short. They need constant stimulation. Most of my students are developing their physical and motor skills that are supported by occupational therapy and adaptive physical education. My students need constant encouragement and positive reinforcement to develop their confidence in content areas they struggle with the most. Using technology to support their artistic expression through different media will help them gain confidence in their work.
