These books will help to support students in their independent reading lives and literacy goals. As a classroom, we read every day. My classroom library is a special and dynamic place with books that are chosen with intention, based on my knowledge of student need, where I want students to grow, and what students are asking for! My students are asking for more stories that challenge them, are relatable, and fun to read. They want to read science fiction, fantasy, anime, drama, comedies, tragedies, romances, mysteries, and even scary stories. Every student deserves the right to feel like books in the library reflect their experiences, and can be relatable in a meaningful way.
