I would love to expand my classroom library to reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of my students. I am asking for twenty books including Tell Me Three Things; The 57 Bus; and Speak: The Graphic Novel; as well as a Bluford Series 20-Book Boxed Set. I have chosen books with characters my students can identify with to be read during our independent reading block as well as books that span across a variety of reading levels to help my most at-risk students become life long lovers of literature.
There is nothing more exciting than seeing the reading timer go off and all faces still buried in books - and nothing more frustrating than seeing a student unable to find a book they can love and understand.
