Providing students with Amazon Kindles will help to narrow the literacy gap in our Special Education classroom. These devices will provide interactive and engaging reading experiences.
Many of my students read well below grade level. For those students, reading is not only challenging, but has a negative impact on their self-esteem. Many of my students "shut down," when asked to read. It is my hope that the implementation of technology and interactive reading will facilitate learning experience through play.
