Art is most of my students favorite time of the week. With our tight curriculum, we are only allotted 1 hour per week on Fridays for Art. I try to make our time fun, creative and full of different aspects of art every week, but with a limited budget and being a mom of four myself, I feel restricted with the opportunities I can give my students when teaching Art. I know I am capable of teaching them so much more. I would love help to create an actual painting experience for them! We would set up the classroom as a real paint night! The ones that were so popular before Covid hit. The students would have their own paints, brush and canvas and could bring a snack while we listen to music and create our masterpieces! I would lead them through each step, guiding them through the process while also allowing their own creativity to emerge. This would allow me to get the tools our classroom needs to get our monthly Art paintings off the ground. We could reuse the brushes and easels and only need canvases and possible paint refills to keep it going. How awesome would it be to display my student's art masterpieces throughout our classroom? And what an even cooler remembrance they would have of their time learning Art in fifth grade! Thank you for considering helping me achieve this lesson. I appreciate you reading my wishes!!
