Hands-on materials that are picture and manipulative supported are the best way to promote language production for English Languages Learners. It is also the best choice for students with autism that are non-verbal. In my ENL classroom I teach kindergarten through 5th grade across all subjects.
I have recently started the Garden project at our school. It is a hands-on way for my students to learn about life sciences, math, nutrition and their own health. It also provides a sensory experience and allows my kids to be outdoors while making connections to nature. Here my students will grow to learn.
I already found sponsors to fund our raised garden beds, soil and garden tools. I will be receiving them this week. Last week we started seeds in the classroom and I would like to start implementing my adapted garden curriculum with your help.
