Advances in technology have significantly impacted education. Technology has changed how students receive information and share ideas with their peers. As a result, educators must re-imagine their classrooms to best meet the needs of learners.
With your assistance, it is my goal to create a more Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) focused classroom environment.
For example, I plan on using the headphones to create a literacy station during our Mathematics block. The craft cabinet will be used to house materials for a Makerspace in our classroom. Here students will be able to create various projects using items like cardboard, piper cleaners, rubberbands, foil, etc. Sharpies, pencils, and the pencil sharpener are essential items for our students. Students having access to whiteboards, dry erase markers, and highlighters allow us to spend time working through problems and implementing problem solving strategies. Index cards will be used to make vocabulary flashcards and laminated in order to better preserve them. Stikki clips will be used to hang anchor charts and other learning visuals around the room. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase digital STEAM resources for our classroom.
