As the title indicates, I am on the move. For the first time in 25 years, I will be teaching in a primary classroom. The first thing I thought about, as a "professional" classroom interior decorator and teacher, is that I would need a nice area in the room for my students to gather. They need a place where they can get comfortable and enjoy reading or working in small groups.
What better way than to provide them with a "comfy" corner! My students will love the bright colors in the requested rug along with big dorm chairs. With a Dr. Suess theme based on "Oh, the Places You'll Go", it will be a very inviting area for them to visit. I am a firm believer in a well decorated, kid friendly classroom. I am fortunate to co-teach with a friend who lets me go to town with the decorating! The kids always love a bright, cheerful, organized room. My students see my sign each day as they enter the room - "You have brains in your head, You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." (-Dr. Suess) In this project they will steer themselves to the "comfy" corner!!
