Kindergartners love daily snack time! In our classroom, we have snack in the afternoon.
Many of my students are on free/reduced lunch and do not bring any food to school. These students have free breakfast and lunch. The others bring their own lunches. I would like to provide my students with basic, healthy, simple, pantry-type foods for snack. These snacks include such items as raisins, cold cereals (ie Cheerios), crackers, goldfish crackers, pretzels, popcorn, banana chips, granola bars, etc. We eat snack in the afternoon when the students need that little extra boost of energy.
Snack time is also a social time in the classroom. The students often talk with each other while eating. It is a positive time of the day that the students always look forward to!
