The use of cubbies will give my students a place for their backpacks, jackets, and toiletry needs. These cubbies will give my students a place that is individually their own and it will help them learn independence. It will also teach them skills on how to follow their schedule when coming into the class to put their items away after use. These cubbies allow my students to be able to follow their schedule to hang their backpacks up in a designated location. This will allow for a visual of the specific location when we are talking about them in their daily schedule and routine. For my population of students visual schedules, routine and consistency are high areas of importance and help them individually thrive.
