My students are resilient, enthusiastic, and loving and they come to school with a positive outlook despite the trauma that they may experience. Our school has an Adopt a College program that provides scholarships to our students upon graduating from high school. We firmly believe in our students' future success and their determination.
All of my students have been identified with a disability ranging from Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD or even a rare medical condition. Being a RSP teacher involves teaching students from Kindergarten-6th grade throughout a school day which means that I am always using different materials and teaching methods to make learning engaging and meaningful - what works for a 5 year old doesn't always work for a 12 year old! It's so important for me to connect with my students, while ensuring that I am teaching the "whole" child, which includes their social and emotional well being.
