My students are 5-6 years olds who are learning to be responsible digital citizens. Many have brought in various types of headphones, but the cords keep getting tangled up. Some have earbuds that aren't quite small enough for their tiny ears. They are full of energy and love discovering new things. Whether they put sounds together and figure out a word or put numbers together to find the total, they are constantly learning and exploring. In order to foster this as much as possible, they use iPads at various times of the day. I try my best to let them be independent and to show them that they are in a safe, secure place Many are low income, and their nicest possessions are the things they use at school.
