I teach 3rd grade in a K-5 elementary school in an urban school district with over 800 students and a diverse population. All of the students at my school receive free lunch. Our school district has been experiencing financial difficulties for many years. However, we have great students, dedicated teachers, and administrators who work together to make our school a happy and safe environment for everyone. My students are extremely hard workers, working at all different ability levels. They are inspiring, smart, funny, creative, motivated. They come to school every day ready to tackle adversities head on.
