My students are excited and enthralled by the new books they read. I'm a Reading Specialist at a Title 1 urban school just outside the nation's capital. These students come from very hardworking families, but they do not have extra money for books at home. Many of my students first language is not English. They have worked extremely hard and are now on the verge of reading at grade level. I need them to continue this rise and to do so they need to read lots and lots of chapter books at their independent reading level.
