I have requested a variety of fine fabrics for students to sew the base garment for their prom look. They will then use lace and embellishments to add glamour to their evening attire, including accessories.
My students have designed their dream prom attire in their minds. These supplies will give them the opportunity to learn new skills, and create an original head-to-toe prom look without having to pay a high price tag.
For my students who intend to study fashion in college, evening wear is a great boost for their portfolios. Many students avoid evening wear at first because it is challenging, and when you're first learning to sew there is a high risk of failure. These materials will allow my students to take risks confidently; knowing that they have enough supplies with which to practice.
