Imagine a group of 3-4 year olds reflecting on their art experience, engaged in conversation, thinking critically and evaluating their work from the previous session by looking at high quality photos. That is precisely what I plan to do with my preschoolers. This camera will be used everyday for every child, to document what they are doing with their hands and the materials.
Reflection is a powerful tool and one of the best ways to support this metacognitive thinking is through images. My very young learners respond strongly to images of themselves and their peers at work and play. With this camera, the images will be both functional but also beautiful which aligns with our school's philosophy to support our student's engagement through the power of aesthetics. These images can then be used to communicate with parents about their children's learning.
