Lucy Laney @ Cleveland Park Elementary a Minneapolis Public School serving pre-K to fifth grade students in the North Minneapolis community. There are approximately 450 students ranging between the ages of four and eleven years old. As a teacher candidate, I had the privilege to complete my licensure/masters program in the school. Later, I was hired onto the first grade and am now in my fourth year of teaching. I have learned that the students are eager to learn new things, especially those that relate to the community they live in and the greater world as a whole. They are incredibly energetic and caring. They are future leaders equipped to succeed in a globally competitive world when given support and guidance by caring and compassionate adults, high-quality programming, and adequate materials. They shine bright!
