I have 64 wonderful, energetic sixth-graders who come in ready to learn every day. My students have a lot of enthusiasm for an enriched learning environments and active participation in current events. They love to earn recognition and work together on group projects.
These children come from many different backgrounds, most of which are students who are interested and excited about their generation. They explore their place in the world and their unique position to change it.
My students start the year learning how to become the best citizens in my core classroom. We discuss subjects such as language, bias, and beliefs in an English and Social Studies class. They discover their own ways of working to their strongest areas of expertise and they are allowed to make many decisions throughout their learning.
Personally, this is my fourth year teaching and I couldn't be more privileged to teach such amazing students.
