What can I say about the students at my school other than I couldn't ask for a better group of students? I work in a Title I environment in a metropolitan area. As a whole, we have tried to instill in our students a sense of commitment and hard work meaning what we do is earned, not given. We focus on character education traits like respect and integrity. And we also discuss issues such as responsibility and accountability. Our students are silly, fun, and talkative, but they also know when it's time to get serious and work hard. Our students understand the importance of setting goals and expectations for themselves and then striving to reach them. Many of our students will be one of the first in their families to go to college and that is something that they look forward to. Since the majority of our students are economically disadvantaged, we try to provide as many opportunities for them as we can.
