Through your donations, my students will have access to an award-winning classroom library. Having quality materials available to students is a desire of all good reading teachers. Likewise, free choice in reading is so very important in the making of a reader. Students have told me numerous times that the reason they dislike reading is because they do not get to read what they want. A fully-stocked, well-organized library full of award-winning, timeless books will go far in helping me to put desirable books in the hands of my students.
When students are allowed to choose their reading material, interest-levels (and reading levels) soar! I want my classroom to be a place where students can find books they enjoy, as well as books that challenge them in their thinking and reading.
