Hello! My name is Ms. Warren. I am the Art teacher at Cary Reynolds Elementary in Doraville, Georgia. Our school is located in the international corridor of Buford Highway just outside Atlanta. Our community consists of many families that are new to our state and more often to our country. We are the first school experience for many of our families and students. We have a large Latino majority (~70%) followed by our Asian community (~15%), Caucasian, & African-American (~10%) and Multi-Racial (~5%). The result is a school where many families are from all over the world, yet they've not been able to expose their children to the world beyond our immediate neighborhood. This lack of exposure is due to finances, transportation and simply an unawareness of their new community.
