Students will be able to use these AAC devices to request their wants and needs on a voice output device. Voice output devices are moderate-high tech options for our non/limitedly-verbal students.
Through the funding of this project, you are helping to give students a voice.
Students from our Autism Support rooms, as well as students from our regular education rooms, will benefit from having AAC devices available to them at the school level. Most AAC devices have to be written through insurance which is a time-consuming process in which the students don't have access to a device. Through having AAC devices at school, I will be able to close the gap in the amount of time that they go without a functional communication system.
